The members of the Dennis Police Department would like to invite the citizens of Dennis to participate in the Citizens Police Academy.  The objective of this program is to allow citizens to learn about and observe first hand the workings of their police department.  Participants will be instructed by members of the department in a variety of subjects.  These subjects will be taught in various settings and will include hands-on experience.  The key to the success of this program is the enthusiasm and participation that the citizens bring to our Citizens Police Academy.

The Citizen Police Academy will be held at the Dennis Police Department once a week for ten weeks.  Sessions run from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m.  Some classes will be held at other locations.  Each student will participate in a ride-along with an officer during their patrol.  We would like all students to attend every class but do understand that sometimes this isn't possible.  In order for students to graduate, they must not miss more than two classes.
